What Makes Water Special?

This lesson uses guided inquiry to examine some of the unique physical properties of two mystery liquids. Students explore the properties of each liquid, make and record observations, compare and contrast each liquid's properties, and draw conclusions based on their investigations.

  • Many of water's unique properties are caused by polarity of the water molecule. 
  • Water is a unique liquid.
