Complex Traits

In a series of six activities, students use the domestic dog as a model to learn about genetics, DNA, genetic testing, phenotypes, alleles, SNPs, and mutations related to desirable and/or harmful effects in certain dog breeds.

This slide set is designed for use with activities found in Complex Traits Guide for Teachers.

While the activities are most appropriate for students in grades 6–8, the lessons may be used with higher grade levels.
