A Sound Education: Heavy Metal

Author(s): Gregory L. Vogt, EdD

Make a Metallophone

A metallophone is similar to a xylophone, but it is made from tuned metal bars or pipes instead of wood.

Part 1 in a series of four slides providing instructions on how to build a metallophone for use in a classroom demonstration, at a sound station in the classroom, or students working in groups. Adjust quantities as needed.

See the Notes section in the slide for materials needed, optional materials, setup instructions, and answers to questions.
