Surface Tension: Demonstration

1. Draw a circle on the paper the size of a dime. 

2. Drop by drop, add water to the center of the circle, trying to keep the growing drop within the confines of the circle. 

3. Determine how many drops you can accumulate. 

4. Make an estimate of its height. 

5. Sooner or later the drop will collapse. How many drops does it take, and how far above the paper does the drop go before it collapses?
