NewsFlash: Europa May Have Water Plumes

Images from an ultraviolet camera aboard the Hubble telescope revealed what scientists believe may be a plume of water vapor reaching as high as 200 kilometers (124.3 miles) above the surface of Europa, one of Jupiter’s 67 known moons. Much more research is required to confirm these observations, and in 2022, the European Space Agency plans to launch a probe to explore Jupiter and its moons, including Europa. In the meantime, additional telescopic imagery may help scientists determine the truth about Europa’s eruptions.
