Space Shuttle Endeavour’s Final Voyage
On its way to public display at the California Science Center in Los Angeles, the Space Shuttle Endeavour made a final visit to Houston, Texas, home of the NASA Johnson Space Center. Circling above “Space City,” the Endeavour, riding atop its transport aircraft, flew directly over Baylor College of Medicine. It was a fitting farewell because the Shuttle’s final space mission carried two student-based science investigations co-developed by Baylor’s Center for Educational Outreach and BioServe Space Technologies at the University of Colorado. Spiders in Space and Plants in Space involved tens of thousands of students across the United States and around the world in authentic space research.
