Baylor College of Medicine Academy at Ryan (BCMAR) is the result of a pioneering partnership between the Baylor College of Medicine Center for Educational Outreach and the Houston Independent School District (HISD). Founded in 2013, BCMAR is dedicated to preparing middle school students for future success in medical, scientific, and STEM fields, guided by the Center for Educational Outreach’s leadership in educational innovation. This joint venture delivers a rigorous STEM-focused magnet program highlighting neuroscience, biotechnology, bioengineering, and scientific research with direct connections to Baylor College of Medicine and the organizations of the Texas Medical Center.
BCMAR’s curriculum, designed in collaboration with the Center, features accelerated Pre-AP classes in all core subjects from sixth grade and a distinctive Latin language requirement.
