Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions (DHSHP) is a nationally recognized college preparatory magnet high school specializing in science and health professions education. Established in 1972 as a partnership between Baylor College of Medicine and the Houston Independent School District, DHSHP was the first school of its kind in the country. Its rigorous, innovative curriculum provides students with direct exposure to careers in medicine and science while fostering an understanding of Houston’s diverse community. The state-of-the-art campus, located near the Texas Medical Center, connects students to unparalleled educational, clinical, and research opportunities.
